«I guess he's not coming in tomorrow.»
Non-Avoidable Final Destination: Watch the Blue Lid and the Worker in the Middle.
«Completely avoidable, by not hiring STUPID employees, like the two idiots behind the blue tank who cause the explosion.»
«Those large blue 'canisters' with the dome on top are pressure vessels such as you find in air compressors, oil tankers etc. They're typically made with a combination of welding and machining and you can see a lathe on the bottom left.
Pressure vessels have a pressure relief valve (PRV) on the top of them (the furthest vessel back has one barely visible sticking out of the top of it. When the PRV is not set right, or during improper testing can they 'pop their top' if the pressure gets too high.
Judging by the swirling gas (indicative of pressurized atmosphere) when this one popped, that's what happened here. We had a man get killed in Virginia about a year ago the same way. The top blew off there too: http://www.supertalk929.com/2023/07/12/worker-killed-at-samuel-pressure-vessel-group-facility-in-lebanon/»
«Uh, no. The lid bounced off of him. If that was heavy it would have smashed right through the puny human. It bumped into him pretty forcefully but not lethal.
The lid didn’t knock the machine over. The lid knocked the guy who then pushed it over.»
«Like a bottle cap? It’s heavy enough to knock the machine to floor. It exploded off of the silo.
Hit him direct on crushing him.»
«A plastic lid, like a bottle cap nicked him. He prolly got thirsty after that, for a coke, but was scared to open it.»
«not final destination.. he lived. the part probably glanced past him.»
