A Dealer Shot And Killed A 25-Year-Old Man Who Pulled Out A Knife During A Conflict

A shocking video revealed on Tuesday has generated great controversy surrounding an incident that occurred in the center of Alajuela.
The images show a merchant, presumably of Chinese origin, who is accused of having shot and killed an alleged assailant outside his business premises, the Minisuper Fecosa, last Sunday, August 25.
The events occurred when, according to the preliminary version of the authorities, a man armed with a knife tried to threaten the merchant, which unleashed a tragic confrontation.
The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) is carrying out the corresponding investigations to determine whether it was a case of self-defense or if there was a disproportionate use of force by the merchant.
Mario Zamora, Minister of Security, indicated that the merchant used his firearm in response to what he perceived as an imminent threat of robbery.
